How did you get into speed running - My very first speedrun was a bet with my ex-girlfriend in 2015, a bet that I could beat "The Legend of Zelda" in under an hour, but that's not a story for this section. Rather, 2 buddies and I started a podcast in 2015 called "2 Broke Gamers (and a Nerd)" that started to pick up steam. We decided to start streaming the 'cast live on Twitch, and to help build an audience I streamed games on Twitch. A speedrunner named Sivart0 came into my channel and asked if I ran anything, and I said, "Well, I once ran Zelda 1 in under an hour".
The rest is history. The podcast ceased in 2016, I took over the channel, and here we are today :)
Anything else you want to add - I love to celebrate old games and new experiences with them, and the amazing communities that spring up around these games. Speedrunning in particular has changed my life. There's so many amazing people I've met because of this hobby.
